Daria comes to Austin by way of Chicago, where she spent five years directing new work and performing wild acts of dramaturgy, She creates kinetic, visceral and collaboratively structured theatre. You’ll know her work by the way it moves.
As a MFA Directing candidate at University of Texas at Austin, Daria has continued her passion for developing, collaborating, and workshopping new plays. At UT she has directed projects including a back porch production of PROOF, STOCKPILE, a site specific work about squirrels and their problems, and DR. JEKYLL AND MR. HYDE, a movement-based thriller about addiction and obsession. Future projects include Holli Gipson’s THE CHRONICLES OF BAD ASS WOMEN and as-yet-unannounced thesis work.
Daria is a graduate of the Literary Apprenticeship Program at Steppenwolf Theater Company, a proud company member of Chicago’s hybrid storytelling series 2nd Story, and served as the producer of The Fresh Eyes Project, a new play series at Red Tape Theatre, where she is also a company member. Daria holds a B.F.A. in Theater Studies from The Theatre School at DePaul University.
